A Film Photography and Fashion Blog

Addition to the Collection

A few weeks ago I won a giveaway from Amanda's lovely Blog for the Diana F+ Camera with an instant back, making it usable with instax fujifilm. I've had it for a couple weeks now, and although it took some getting used to, I really love it. Not only is it a beautiful camera, its also incredibly light and gives you much more control than a regular instax. For anyone looking for a toy camera with the ability to use both instant and 120 film, you really can't go wrong!

The very first time I used it I had to play around a little with the settings, but third time was the charm! The first time was set to "sunny", and came out too dark. The second time I tried using the flash, which completely washed it out. The third time I set it to "partial sun" and turned the flash off, and I quite like the way it turned out!

The only setback to this camera is that it takes two fairly expensive batteries (mine cost $30 for both, but I've seen them for much more at camera stores), and that the little stopper that is meant to stop the shutter release falls out pretty easily. I haven't actually had it go off in my bag yet, but I've been quite careful about it. Other than those two things though, I really love it, and I can't wait to document my summer with it!

  1. Ooh, this looks interesting, I already have a Diana F; I assume its an attachment?

  2. Oh goodness, this is awesome. Where do I get that attachment for a camera like that?? I love it!

  3. This looks and sounds like a really fun camera to have!

  4. Oooh, that is so cute! I've always wanted to experiment with instant toy cameras. Love it!

  5. Yes it is! It just fits over the back and allows you to take instant photos :)

  6. Mine came from the Lomography store! :)

  7. I have been contemplating buying this camera! I had a Fuji instant camera but lost it when I moved, and there is something about the Diana cameras that is like a cult following and so vintage.

Is it weird that i also love the pictures OF the camera? lol
