Orchard Shenanigans

In all my life as a Canadian Citizen, I have never actually gone to an apple orchard and picked apples. Considering thats pretty much the most abundant fruit we grow here, that seems a bit silly to me. I fixed it this weekend by going to an orchard with some friends, and using our plunder to bake apple crisp (which was freaking delicious, and I didn't burn it. Huzzah!). We got a very neat stick and some bags and were set free to pick all the apples our little hearts desired. I have to say that I really don't think we were meant to climb the trees, but eventually I gave up trying to stop the guys from getting in shit and just joined in.

I'd like to try a bigger orchard next time, if I get the chance. This one was fairly small, but still fun all the same. Have you ever been apple picking? What's your favourite thing to do with the apples afterwards?

  1. Welp, as a fellow Canadian I have yet to go apple picking as well! Looking at all these photos makes me want to head right out and try it though haha :)

  2. I just love these photos. They make me really wish Fall weather and colors were here RIGHT NOW. :)

  3. I used to love going to Orchards more for cider donuts and hot spiced apple cider than the actual picking. I wish they had things like this in England!

  4. This looks like so much fun!! I've been meaning to go this year. I've got to make it a priority--apple picking is now on my list:)

  5. I love apple picking! Went last year and it was so much fun! I bought waaaay to many that time so I made apple crisp too, probably 4 times and then ate and ate some more apples after that!

I would love to hear what you think! Comments make my day and I try my best to reply to every single one via email response :)
